www.youtube.com/kenmazurmusic guitar improviztions to macro photo slide shows
Knowing that the 10 year redistricting cycle has created a potentially disastrous situation for the
Santa Monica Mountains, the content of these musical macro slide shows is all the more relevant.
It is the beauty of a natural park like Ed Edelman/Summit Point that reminds us of what we have gained over the years and what can be lost. These pictures may perhaps serve to motivate us all to redouble our
efforts to ensure that District three stays as the political entity that it is with Zev Yaroslavsky as our
legitimate, elected Supervisor. If one of the new proposed boundaries is selected, we will no longer be
in District 3 and will have been disenfranchised from our legally elected supervisor. There is no
guarantee that we will get a supervisor as connected to our challenges as Zev has been.
The flowers will not know the difference--not at first. But if development is left un controlled, if safety
protocols and organizations go unsupported, if the traffic and watershed issues are not dealt with in a
proactive, sensitive way--eventually, there will simply be less flowers, less room, less natural
beauty.
The record of the 2011 year flora, which these short chronological slide shows represent, is now an informal benchmark in a way. This is where we are now. This is a snap shot of the tiny, living
miracles that we are priviledged to live amongst. I did not set out to create this series with District 3
in mind...but it seems very relevant now.

Topanga is an amazing place. It's nice to take a short break in the day and visit her gifts.
